Labor Day is:
- a day off from work, making for a long weekend
- street parades and food festivals
- the symbolic end of the Summer
- the last day of the year to fashionably wear white pants
- the beginning of football season
- back to school time
The United States Department of Labor defines Labor Day as: "Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of
the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of
American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions
workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country."
